  交際與語言表達(dá)

  1. 本篇是一個健身俱樂部的介紹。首先，“On behalf of LP Clubs，I’d like to welcome you all here today. My name’s...one of the fitness managers here.”中On behalf of ..., I’d like to ...(我謹(jǐn)代表機構(gòu)/某人……)是致辭演講時的常用開場白。

  2. 俱樂部經(jīng)理講“...I’ll just run through some basic information about...(我先講一下的……基本信息)”、“run through”在這里為“過一遍”的意思。

  3. 講到游泳池很寬，“...there are rarely more than a couple of people at a time in each lane.(...很多人在同一條泳道的情況很少)”。“a couple of意為“兩個，幾個”;“at a time”意為“在某時”。

  4. 在器材的使用上，“Each member is given full training in how to operate the equipment and there is always a trainer on duty to offer help and advice.”表示“每個人在操作設(shè)備方面都會受到充分的訓(xùn)練，而且教練也隨時為您提供幫助和建議”。“操作設(shè)備”用“operate the equipment”; “on duty”意為“值班，上班”。

  5. 費用上，“Older children continue to benefit from a wide range of tuition…”表示“大一些的孩子還在學(xué)費上享有一系列的優(yōu)惠”。“benefit from”意為“受益于”;“a wide range of”意為“大范圍的;各種不同的”。

  6. 接著講俱樂部在客戶中的口碑，“One thing all our members appreciate about us is that we take very good care of them.”其中“appreciate”意為“贊賞”;“take care of...”意為“照顧”。

  7. 健身時，注意人身安全和避免受傷很重要，于是提到“It’s very important to do this because we really do want to avoid having any sports injuries. There’s a lot more to looking after yourself than simply lifting weights!”其中“It’s very important

  to...” 為固定句式，意為“……很重要”;avoid(避免)，可以有avoid sb./sth. 或 avoid doing sth.(避免做)兩種表述;look after = take care of (照顧)。

  8. 最后講的是types of membership (會員種類)，其中有individual gold membership (個人金卡會員)、joint membership (聯(lián)合會員)、premier membership (優(yōu)先/超級會員)。

  Questions 11-12 A C (IN EITHER ORDER)

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為facilities。

  題目解析：本題有5個選項，A選項為“健身房”，B選項為“跑道”，C選項為“室內(nèi)游泳池”，D選項為“室外游泳池"，E選項為“兒童運動訓(xùn)練”。根據(jù)定位詞，注意聽“swimming pool which at 25 metres isn’t Olympic-sized, but now we’ve expanded it to eight lanes，it’s much wider”和“recently refurbished fitness suite”其中fitness suite和gym表達(dá)同一個意思，即健身房，因此A可選。但選項中對swimming pool有限定，到底是室內(nèi)還是室外，還得通過“Unfortunately, there isn’t space for an outdoor pool here”做出判斷，所以C也可選。

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為New members，提示詞為any，此處應(yīng)填名詞。

  題目解析：錄音中并沒有直接說New members，而是通過同義句轉(zhuǎn)述：This starts on day one with your personal assessment. You are asked to fill in a questionnaire giving details of any health problems.既然是day one，那也就是new member了，fill in a questionnaire即填寫調(diào)查問卷，giving details of any health problems中的giving details of正好是題干中describe的同義替換，故health problems為答案。

  Question 14 safety rules

  聽前預(yù)測：提示詞為The(主語)，此處應(yīng)填名詞。

  題目解析：空格處缺少的是句子的主語，整個句子用的時態(tài)又是被動語態(tài)，所填就需是“物”。定位到“The trainer will then take you through the safety rules for using the equipment in the fitness suite”，于是 safety rules就是trainer要take you through 的內(nèi)容，題干中將take you through同義替換成了be explained to you，句子從主動形式變成了被動句，這樣一來safety rules就作了主語。

  Question 15 plan

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為six-week，提示詞為a，此處應(yīng)填名詞(單數(shù))。

  題目解析：注意聽含有定位詞的句子“the trainer will draw up a plan, outlining what you should try to achieve within a six-week period”，其中“draw up a plan”的意思是“起草計劃”。“outlining what you should try to achieve”修飾plan的用途，一直圍繞著plan講，因此將被提供的是a six-week plan，plan即為答案。

  Question 16 joining

  聽前預(yù)測：定位為￡90，提示詞為fee，此處應(yīng)填名詞或形容詞。題目解析：本題考查的是￡90指哪種fee。定位至“All members must pay a joining fee of ￡90…”，很容易得出答案joining。

  Question 17 free entry

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為Gold members，提示詞為given，此處應(yīng)填名詞。

  題目解析：此題相對比較容易，答案出現(xiàn)在：Gold membership entitles you to free entry at all LP Clubs.(金牌會員享有免費進(jìn)入所有LP俱樂部的權(quán)利。)其中“entitle sb. to do sth.”表示“授權(quán)某人做某事，某人有權(quán)利做某事”。

  Question 18 peak

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為Premier members和priority，提示詞為hours，此處應(yīng)填數(shù)字、名詞或形容詞。

  題目解析：Premier members的priority問題在“LP gives booking preferences to Premier members at peak times”中給了很好的解釋，只不過priority在原句中是用preferences一詞表現(xiàn)的，Premier members 為原詞出現(xiàn)，代入題目中，peak即為答案。

  Question 20 photo card/photo cards

  聽前預(yù)測：定位詞為take，提示詞為their，此處應(yīng)填名詞(單復(fù)數(shù)均可)。

  題目解析：看到定位詞take，腦海中首先設(shè)想可能會出現(xiàn)remember to take...或don’t forget to...等類似的句子。果然，后面可以聽到“but it’s very important to remember your photo card...”與之前的假設(shè)基本吻合，從而得到答案photo card或photo cards。
